Welcome to Hamilton Middle Royalty Advisory Groups

At Hamilton, we are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment where every student can belong, grow, and reach their full potential through positive relationships and community support. To further this mission, we're excited to introduce our Royalty Advisory Lunch Groups. These groups are designed to help students navigate different areas of their lives, offering guidance, support, and a sense of community during their middle school journey. Together, we can ensure that every student feels valued and empowered to succeed.

Royalty Advisory Groups

BAASE (STARTING NOVEMBER 2024)

The Mission of the Wichita Public Schools BAASE Initiative is to identify males of color who have demonstrated positive academic identities and to engage them in meaningful/culturally relevant activities that will lead to further academic and social success as well as increased participation in AP, Honors and IB programming.

Through the Office of Equity, Diversity & Accountability the BAASE initiative aims to eliminate some of the current data that suggest that Black a & Hispanic males (and males of poverty in general) hold the highest suspension rates and lowest grade point averages. BAASE hopes to motivate these young men to continue to strengthen their academic identities by enrolling in rigorous college and career readiness courses. Our number one goal is to increase the number of males in WPS who are college and career ready and prepared to compete for academic scholarships!

Although the focus of BAASE is males of color, we do not exclude any males who would like to join!

GIRL ROYAL TALK

This counselor-led group is designed specifically for 8th grade girls, providing a safe and supportive environment where they can openly discuss the unique challenges they face in their everyday lives. Through guided conversations, activities, and peer support, the group focuses on building confidence, developing problem-solving skills, and fostering strong relationships. Whether it’s handling academic pressures, navigating friendships, or exploring personal growth, this group offers the tools and guidance to help students thrive during this pivotal stage of their lives.

PANDO INITIATIVE: GIRL TALK

Girl Talk, part of the Pando Initiative, is a supportive and empowering program for young women. Through engaging discussions, activities, and mentorship, Girl Talk creates a space where participants can explore topics such as self-esteem, relationships, academic success, and personal growth. Led by PANDO staff, the program helps girls build confidence, develop leadership skills, and create lasting connections with their peers.

PANDO INITIATIVE: BOYS CLUB

Boys Club, part of the Pando Initiative, is a dynamic program designed to support and mentor young men as they navigate their school years and personal growth. Through interactive sessions, group discussions, and hands-on activities, Boys Club provides a safe space for boys to explore topics such as leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and self-discipline. Led by dedicated PANDO staff, the program encourages participants to develop strong character, build positive relationships, and make thoughtful decisions both in school and beyond.

PANDO INITIATIVE: CHESS CLUB

The Chess Club, part of the Pando Initiative, offers students the opportunity to sharpen their critical thinking, problem-solving, and strategic skills through the timeless game of chess. Open to players of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced players, the club provides a supportive environment where students can learn new techniques, practice, and challenge each other in friendly competition. With guidance from PANDO staff, Chess Club fosters patience, focus, and sportsmanship, helping students develop both intellectually and socially. Whether aiming to improve their game or simply enjoy the fun of playing, participants will gain valuable skills that extend far beyond the chessboard.

ART THERAPY

Art Therapy, part of the Kansas Opportunity Support Program (KOSP), is a unique and creative outlet exclusively available to KOSP students. This program uses various forms of artistic expression—such as painting and drawing as therapeutic tools to help students explore their emotions, reduce stress, and improve mental well-being. Guided by trained KOSP staff, students are encouraged to express themselves freely in a safe and supportive environment. Art Therapy promotes self-discovery, emotional healing, and personal growth, providing participants with a healthy and empowering way to process their experiences and challenges.

LAASE (STARTING DECEMBER 2024)

The Mission of the Wichita Public Schools LAASE Initiative is to identify females of color who have demonstrated positive academic identities and to engage them in meaningful/culturally relevant activities that will lead to further academic and social success as well as increased participation in AP, Honors and IB programming.
